New York Roofing

by administrator

New York is another one of those Mid-Atlantic States which all have similar roofing trends because the climate on one side of the state is almost completely opposite to the other end of the state. When you look at New York roofing, you have to break it down into two main regions, east NY (everything from Long Island and all up and down the coast line and then spreading as far west into Westchester county and all points directly north of that) and then you have the western part of NY (again anything west of basically Orange county NY).

The two regions are vastly unique in their trends of roofing. East New York tends to have a shingles base and a lot of slate as well. In fact, as crazy as it sounds, occasionally ceramic makes its way into the picture here. The area also has many commercial office parks and buildings, so you see a lot of tar roofing as well as rubber and torch down roofing. Industrial roofing companies really thrive here.

Western New York has some hills, somewhat colder temps and a lot more snow and even a nice mix of lake effect winds. Metal roofing lives in this area, steel roofers thrive in Western New York. The commercial and industrial roofing scene is more metal based as well.

A handful of these Mid Atlantic states have roofing that looks very similar. You have ocean and coast line on one side and then mountainous / hilly terrain on the other. New York is definitely that way.

Some roofers that we have been recommended in NY - Empire Roofing and Geiger Roofing. Check them out they are established companies. ALWAYS do your own homework before hiring a roofing contractor though, ALWAYS!!!

New Jersey Roofing

by administrator

There are certain aspects of home-ownership that simply can’t be put off or overlooked, especially if you want your home to be safe and energy efficient. High on the list for many people when it comes to home improvement is their roofs. It’s pretty clear why having a solid, well maintained, and dependable roof is critically important. The roof is responsible for protecting the rest of the house from the elements. For homeowners who left their roofs fall into disrepair, many have discovered the costly consequences.

To avoid potential roofing disasters it’s important to have your roof inspected routinely, and, when the time comes to start a roof replacement project make sure you don’t put it off. For a new roof installation in New Jersey, hiring a contractor that you trust with this very important part of your home can be stressful, but is essential to the success of the project. A skilled NJ roofing contractor should be able to help you with all your roofing needs no matter the temperature. Even during the bitter cold New Jersey winters, a quality roofer will be able to give you the new roof you need which will last years.

Hiring a Roofing Contractor in New Jersey

It doesn’t really matter if you are looking for New Jersey roofing or new siding, when you are hiring a contractor there are certain things you should always be on the look out for. Be sure to meet with more than one local New Jersey contractor. It’s generally recommended to meet with three contractors and to receive three estimates. Be sure to check out any roofing contractor you are considering with the Better Business Bureau. It’s also very important to request copies of essential documents from the contractor you consider hiring. These documents include insurance certifications, licensing, and business permits. If you do those things, you shouldn’t have any trouble with your roofing home improvement project.

Another aspect of a good New Jersey roof installation is ensuring that you get the roof you want. Across the country, the most popular type of roofing material is asphalt shingles. You can expect them to last for 20 to 30 years and they are a good investment. However, there are other durable and attractive choices like ceramic tiles or even natural stone. It’s a good idea to talk your ideas over with your hired contractor.

Virginia Roofing

by administrator

Today I want to touch upon roofing in Virginia. Mainly because I was spending some research time in the Washington DC area, for the last post about Maryland roofing companies.

Virginia is very large State with varying climates. You have the Mid-Atlantic beach area of Virginia Beach. Which they call the Tidewater area, Hampton Roads, Norfolk, Chesapeake etc. This area has a trend of more traditional shingles roofing approach. The salty ocean air can do too much damage to some other types of roofing materials.

Then you have Northern Virginia / the DC suburb area. With many high class homes in older areas like Alexandria and Arlington and traditional modern housing in areas like Fairfax and Reston, you mainly see here slate roofing, some sheet metal (industrial) and shingles.

In the western and south western parts of Virginia, in the Appalachian mountain areas, you see a lot of metal roofing, steel roofing, aluminum, some copper roofing and sheet metal.

The company referenced in Maryland Roofing - Maggio - also services much of Virginia. And again they get the Seal of Approval from LocalRoofCompanies.com. We are also giving the LocalRoofCompanies.com Seal of Approval to Katchmark Construction and Marty’s Custom Roofing. Good companies with standing reputations.

Maryland Roofing

The State of Maryland is fairly lucky when it comes to roofing - I should clarify what I mean, thats too general. Marylanders are fortunate that they dont typically have to replace their roofs as often as may places in the United States. In fact, much of the Mid-Atlantic is graced with mild climates. The winters arent too brusing and the summers, although often humid, arent generally too hot. So the Maryland roofing scene is a pretty normal one.

Maryland Commercial Roofing
There are definitely a good amount of commercial buildings in Maryland, mainly because the State is a convergence of two large Metro areas, sort of all bundled into one - DC and Baltimore.

Maryland Roofing Contractors
You certainly can find a good number of roofing contractors in the State of Maryland. After some research we have found two firms that we believe have great experience as well as all the proper licenses. Our research found that these two companies have been around a long time and have the capacity to work on any size job and any material.

- Ruff Roofers

- Maggio Roofing

So there you have the Maryland roofers who get the LocalRoofCompanies.com seal of approval.
